Knot like Other Bracelets

By Linda Zeng

We're experiencing a cooler, autumnal week here in Brooklyn, which makes me feel nostalgic for summer already. (Was it just a couple of weeks ago since that heat wave?) This in turn makes me ponder about summer baubles. The perfect jewelry pieces for sticky-icky weather is the bracelet, lots and lots of them. In Nantucket, kids (and fashion-forward adults, I bet) wear the rope bracelet. These thick, white cotton cords are worn all summer long, until thread-bare in the fall. When you take them off it becomes the best tan line. Now these bracelets are re-imagined and given new sophisticated edge. Take a look:

In the meantime, enjoy summer!

Some New Pieces and go-to Favorites

by Linda Zeng

Some of my favorite necklaces of all time are these red poppy flowers. With so many pastels on the runway for fall, this necklace adds that extra pop of color.

In this never-ending New York heat wave, thank goodness Teresa's been designing new earrings! They're the best alternatives to necklaces to keep your neck cool and free. She just took these pictures, including these delicate enamel hanging leave earrings. They look so rich against the wood grains, don't they?

Jewelry in Films

By Linda Zeng
Here are some movies that feature characters who wear jewelry to perfection. The pieces are not necessarily dramatic or iconic, but they bring out the aesthetic qualities of the movie, the character, and its actors.

New Custom Men's Double Finger Ring

by Linda Zeng

Did you know that up until recent history, men wore equal, if not more, amounts of jewelry than women? The Industrial Revolution and its motto of thrift and practicality, however, made men do away with accessorizng. What a shame!

t. kahres jewelry recently custom created this men's double finger ring so no one would have to give up style or substance. The ring pays equal focus on the two rows of five black diamonds, as well as on the double bands.

It is rhodium plated in platinum, over sterling silver.Rhodium is a precious metal, a member of the platinum family. Rhodium electroplating is used to provide a surface that will resist scratches and tarnish, and give a white, reflective appearance.
The slanted rows reminds us of retro looking thunderbolts!

If you would like to have your own customized order, just contact Teresa via email at info@tkahresjewelry.com.
Also, check out this ring and more on Etsy.

Let It Be...Spring Already!

By Linda Zeng

Just when it feels like February would never end, March peeks out at us from around the corner. Alas, even though groundhogs everywhere have promised us a short winter, we'd believe it when we see it. Luckily there are new jewelry trends for Spring to keep us busy oogling until until March 20! This Ilias Lalaounis for Sophia Kokosalaki gold draped necklace caught our eye, in keeping with the Art Deco/ Floral trend we've been seeing.

And also these gold-plated Horn earrings from her collection; doesn't it look like something Frida Kahlo might have worn? So opulent and romantic, in a bohemian way.

Sisters' Keeper!

by Linda Zeng

Teresa just collaborated on a custom ring with her dear friend Margaret Danek Vasquez, creator of the couture stationary label, Tiger & Jones. With Margaret's expertise in letter design and print, and Teresa's expertise in jewelry design and execution, this beautifully elegant and simple ring was born!
Margaret calls it the "Sister Ring," because she will wear it close to her wedding band to celebrate her two lovely daughters.

The band is matte 14K yellow gold, studded with yellow diamonds, and hand-engraved with the each daughter's name in a pretty rounded script; it reminds us of vintage French grammar book writings! The rings are truly adorable and definitely something that will become instant heirlooms.

'til next week, enjoy!

Ring in the New Year

by Linda Zeng

Happy two-o-ten, everyone! To start things off creatively this year, Teresa Kahres has crafted this uber-edgy, super-chic engagement ring. The industrial-grade, rough cut diamonds nestle atop the matte, white gold band. The rocks' colors vary, but I love how some are shades of champagne and other hues are grey to clear. It's the perfectly modern way to say I do.

T. Kahres Jewelry welcomes customized engagement ring orders. Please inquire at tkahres@gmail.com or visit tkahresjewelry.com.
